Genshin Impact Bug Lets Players Surf Forever with Mualani
Genshin Impact players have stumbled upon an exciting bug that lets them use the surfing mechanic with the new five-star character Mualani endlessly. The latest update, Genshin Impact Version 5.0, has brought a ton of new content, including the introduction of two new characters: Mualani and Kachina.
Teyvat, the world of Genshin Impact, is huge, so it's no surprise that players run into various bugs. Luckily, the overworld is less challenging compared to places like the Spiral Abyss, so some glitches can actually make exploring more fun.

The Mualani Surfing Bug
Mualani, the newest Hydro user, comes with a special ability to ride her Sharky Surfboard, speeding up exploration across Teyvat. However, her surfing has a limit—her Nightsoul bar depletes quickly, which normally means players have to wait before surfing again.
But thanks to a discovery by a Twitter user named hxg_diluc, players can bypass this limit. Here’s how to do it:
- Switch to Another Character: Start by changing to a different character.
- Disconnect Internet: Temporarily disconnect your internet.
- Activate Saurian Transformation: Use the Saurian transformation mechanic.
- Jump and Switch Back: Once your character reappears, press the jump button and switch back to Mualani.
- Reconnect to Internet: Reconnect your internet, and you’ll find that you can now surf indefinitely with Mualani.

Why This Bug is a Big Deal
Mualani is the first five-star character from Natlan, a new region introduced in the game, just like Tighnari was for Sumeru. Some players see this bug as a small win, especially since HoYoverse recently made changes that reduced the effectiveness of similar mechanics.
Although Mualani is a strong DPS character, she’s not the only option for dealing high damage. Characters like Neuvillette, who is a Hydro catalyst user, might be stronger in combat. Still, Mualani shines in exploration. While surfing on her Sharky Surfboard, she can deal damage through her Normal Attacks, which turn into Sharky Bites.
Her Elemental Burst is pretty straightforward. It fires a Super Shark Missile that tracks enemies and deals AoE Hydro damage. If you’re building Mualani, remember that most of her abilities scale with max HP, which is typical for Hydro characters in Genshin Impact.
Enjoy your endless surfing adventures in Teyvat with this fun new bug!
